Funny that the little fricker let you take a picture and then walk past him to retrieve the instrument of his doom without slithering off. Usually once a human comes anywhere near, snakes don't stick around for long. Wonder if your neighbors had been feeding it?

Yeah, despite my attempt at humor earlier, I really was torn. I really am a weenie about snakes but I don't kill for the sake of killing. I eat what I kill. Obviously it wasn't a viper but I I've tossed about 3 snakes that I didn't kill (other than the copperhead) out because they were only about 6 inches to 2 feet.

I live in the middle of a town. I could throw it in the back of the truck but the closest non inhabited area is a 20 minute drive.

There's a soccer field behind my house and if I put it over my fence it'd be in the middle of that. I kinda hissed at it so that it would get scared and rushed it but no movement. Just sitting with his head raised. Definitely not scared of me. My kids were going to come out and grill with me and I didn't want to mess with getting my fearless 4 year old to not to screw with it.
