If they redshirted and got injured they can still apply for a medical hardship waiver for a 6th year. That is how Case Keenum played 6 for instance

Can apply would be key words. And doesn't that only apply to season ending injuries suffered in their RSR year? Let's not act like its a crutch to stand upon in this argument.
Let's look at this honestly, if they arent looking to make a jump to the NFL by year five of their college career, they probably shouldn't be in the starting lineup on a team competing for championships.
