huh?... what's dumb about feeling lucky to get a five star RB for 3 years?... if he lives up to that hype, that's all we're getting. the notion we'd be 'lucky' to have him for 4 or even 5 is antiquated.
who are you talking about specifically? Gus as OC didn't have final say on redshirts, the HC did.... and it was chizik's phylosophy to play the young guys early on special teams (seemed to work out pretty well in 2010).

It's just a strange way of saying "I hope he's really good so he spends the minimum number of years at AU as allowed within the rules." As if he had the choice to spend less.

I don't think Gus should redshirt Roc.
We've had the JJ discussion ad nauseum already, but that's one. Rudy Ford is the other.
