330 yards and 3 TDs against East Carolina, 177 yards and 3 TDs against UAB, 310 yards and 3 TDs against Clemson, and 117 yards and 2 TDs against Michigan. Overall, 934 of his 1027 passing yards and all eleven of his TDs were against non-con opponents in 2012.
Who cares if they were against non-conference opponents? Michigan finished with the number 2 passing D in the nation in 2012. After we torched them for 330. That's how good they were.
And Clemson was a top ten team and it was at Clemson. Not an easy game.

except that Dylan is a statue and Mauk is a dynamic runner.
While I agree Mauk is a better runner, Thompson can still get after it and has 5 rushing TDs. He takes more sacks but he can run on a 3rd and 7 to pick up the first when he needs too.

Both are good QBs. Mauk is more dynamic and has a higher ceiling.
This is probably true. But also, Thompson is a 5th year senior so he knows the system well and has been under Spurrier's wing for a while now and he's tough as hell.
FWIW, no Gamecock has tried to tear down Mauk like Mizzou fans have done with Thompson continually. They are the best two returning QBs in the East next year.
