Scotch is third on that list. Actually, it's fourth. I like Irish whiskey (Jameson, Bushmills, Knappogue Castle) better than Scotch. And it will likely soon be fifth, thanks to rum.

I will keep some Scotch around (local Sam's Club has a great deal on Macallan 12 and Glenlivet 12 and I recently received some JW Black as a gift), plus I'll try new/different Scotch's when the opportunity arises.

But I do understand why Bourbon drinkers aren't huge fans of Scotch. I just want to keep an open mind.

Actually, that describes me pretty well too, although I would add rye to the list above everything except bourbon. I go through short periods where I'm in the mood for Scotch, but it's usually no better than 4th on the list...
