Trish Niemann of Cable One said she is confident a deal will be struck in time for the SEC Network's debut.

"We're optimistic we'll have the SEC Network in our cable lineup by the time it launches," Niemann said. "ESPN carries a lot of channels and the SEC Network is part of that. Our goal is to get the best channels for our customers."

Gulfport Councilman Myles Sharp recently prompted the city to pass a resolution encouraging Cable One to carry the SEC Network. He isn't surprised at Cable One making a push to get the SEC Network.
