Everyone gets so worked up about this stuff you are distorting the facts.
Nick and Bert are definitely leading this charge.

When he first started discussing it, he never mentioned player safety at all. He was concerned with whether or not we wanted football to be more like soccer or not.

You said he first started discussing after the 2012 loss to Texas A&M and he didn't talk about player safety at that point.

That's just flat out wrong on both counts, sorry.

That's the problem with this discussion is that people are being dishonest about things are simply uninformed and just repeat the talking points they have heard from other people. And yes both side are doing it. It won't change, but I just wanted to say it anyway.

Dave Bartoo at @CFBMatrix has shown that the NFL has a higher rate of injury on average and runs LESS plays per game on average than the SEC.

He has also shown that the SEC has a higher rate of injury on average and runs LESS plays per game on average than the Big 12.

Number of plays per game on average?
1. Big 12
2. SEC
3. NFL

Highest rates of injury?
1. NFL
2. SEC
3. Big 12

Bartoo says the likely culprit then isn't pace of play. Its much more likely to be caused due to Newton's 2nd Law... F = ma

I need a carton or two of ciggies to ponder this.
