They'll start sooner than I expected if the stadium expansion and new arena will be under construction at the same time

I still think/hope that the latest renderings without suites in the new endzone was simply a fundraising ploy by Bjork. I think he was just trying to get people to commit to the suites

The project calls for enclosing the north end zone and adding suites and skyboxes on the south and west sides.
So updating the pressbox (much needed) and more south endzone suites??
Where are they putting the south endzone stuff?

Underneath the current SEZ deck, which will take away the view of the field from the SEZ concourse. I'm pretty pissed about it.

frick ton of money will be added. It's pretty simple...go watch the game outside like the rest of us.

I'm talking about going to the bathroom, getting a drink, smoking a cig, etc. it's convenient to be able to see the field while you're doing these things.
That concourse also makes up the bulk of where people go for standing room only tickets.
It's just a really nice area that everyone enjoys and most will be getting the shaft for a little more money.

yeah....there's about 40k other people who do the same thing during the games. That's why there's TVs and the radio broadcast going in the concourses in the rest of stadium. I've never complained about it. I always thought that area was a bit of a wasted space. The millions of dollars we'll be getting from the suites makes "sacrificing" that open concourse area more than worth it.
Hell, it seems like more people stay inside the concourse than in the seats most games. I wish we would do the same thing with the East Side Rebel Club. Tear that ugly shite down and build more seating with some suites between the upper deck and lower.
ETA: exactly how are you able to see the bathroom while taking a piss....other than the obvious LSU way of dropping trousers in the stands.

What's wrong with the Rebel Club seats?

I always thought our stadium would look great if we took the south end zone look and carried it all the way around to the North Endzone Goaline. Next Expansion put an upper deck above the North Endzone for visiting fans. Have they put out the new design yet?

nothing wrong with the seats.
but I think the design was and still is horrible.
I mean...look at it...
There was WAY too much money spend for such a small amount of seats. What sucks is it has to be completely demolished to be able to expand that side.
Then you have the same problem I'm expressing with the SEZ concourse area.....people staying inside the concourse all game instead of actually attending a football game.

By far the worst looking side of VHS.. It needs to go.. But I remember T A&M game 2 years ago I believe it was when it was cold with a light mist that southern concourse save me from leaving the game.. I understand it needs to go for extra seating/money but I will miss it

How about you eat shite pank. I didn't say I was freaking out about it, just that I'm pissed because it takes away a cool part of the stadium.
It's a fact that this will frick up games where we need standing room only tickets, and there isn't much room between the concourse and the current deck because, you know, it wasn't designed to cram in another half assed deck. I will be very surprised if they are able to make it look aesthetically pleasing while also giving the new deck a good view of the field. It will probably add some bullshite like 5 extra rows.

for some reason you seem to be forgetting that we're expanding the stadium. The cool thing about expansion mode is....if you expect to be needing standing room only tickets...you can just go ahead and add that into the design plans.

that article doesn't give any clues as to how/where the new SEZ suites will be. My guess is that they'll actually just renovate that concourse area to be more suites while still selling those outdoor seats separately.
I've sat in that concourse area a few times and didn't really care enough for it for the money it costs. I felt like I was at home watching it on TV. To each his own but the "coolest part" of watching a college football game is being out there crammed with the rest of the fans.

Yes it is, but there is a demand for club level seats. I wouldn't want to demolish it and just replace with regular seats and suites.

The East side is still large enough to have a concourse area and have a lot of suites. If I were to redesign the East side upper area....it would be suites inside the 30s and seats with concourse areas behind them outside the 30s.
To be honest....I don't see why we keep making what is naturally 2nd worst viewing part of the stadium the best and most desirable. The best and most expensive seats/suites should be around midfield....not the endzone.
the endzones are supposed to be the worst seats in the stadium. It baffles me how much Ole Miss fans are trying to go against the grain on that.

just realized something....For whatever reason(frick tons of alcohol yesterday), when OB is talking about the concourse area....I'm thinking about the closed in area behind the chair-back seats on the middle level.
In my head, I thought they were talking about renovating THAT area into individual suites with the red chair-backs in front of them.
My derp...

I don't think it's so much that fans want to, it's just all there is available. We were told the waiting list for the Rebel Club is around 15 years, but SEZ is at max 3 years. Therefore we went with SEZ (still on the waiting list). I'd much rather not be in the end zone, but I like what the club level has to offer.

Bjork's proposal was to add another deck below this one with the red chairbacks
Not a lot of room, huh?
