To those who don't use press pots.
Its not really time consuming. Here's my coffee making ritual.
Put water on the stove to boil: 10 seconds.
Get beans out of cabinet and pour into grinder (which occupies much less space on my counter top than a whole coffee pot). Grind :30 seconds max
Dump this into the press pot and wait for water to boil and steam to whistle while I'm getting something for breakfast.
When the water boils, pour into the press pot. Wait another 2 minutes max, and press the plunger. There, its done.
It takes about 1 minute total of labor, the coffee tastes better, fresher, smoother, and I don't have some bulky, dirty coffee pot on my counter. I don't have to fish a filter out and then throw it away the next time I make coffee.
If my press pot gets nasty, I can just put the whole thing in the dishwasher.
Those who have never french pressed their coffee are officially encouraged to try it by

Bonus points: women will think you are sophisticated and old school when they see you do this. You get the whole fresh ground aroma and kettle whistling thing too, which I love.
