I don't get the big deal. He advocates for his opinion just like every other coach. Oh, he asked to speak at a meeting? Who the frick cares? It's not like he is the sole power in determining whether the rule passes. It likely will not.

It absolutely would be a big deal to you if a rival coach sneaked his way into a meeting and tried to persuade a committee to pass a rule that limited your team's ability to play they way they want to. Bammers would be livid. So don't act like he did the right thing. What he did was distasteful and wrong.

He didn't sneak his way into anything.

Again I'm interested to hear how Saban ensured that the committee did not invite someone from the other side. Did he hold a gun to the chairperson's head? Threaten their family? Bribe them with lots of cash?
Or is the anger misdirected? Saban doesn't run the committee. It was the chairperson's job to run the meeting. They could've just as easily invited a HUNH coach. They didn't. Saban wanted to speak on something. What was he supposed to do? Call up Gus and let him know? That is not his job. He is just another coach with an opinion he wanted to express.

If the shoe was on the other foot, I would be more angry at the committee chairperson for not arranging to have both sides speak than I would the coach who has an opinion.
