I think it's sad that everyone comes on here posting their opinions about Sam but one guy posts his opinion that others don't agree with and he is automatically a homophobic jackass. Which side is intolerant? Personally, I believe homosexuality is a sin. Will I change anyone's mind that disagrees with me? Probably not but it doesn't make me wrong.

Buck, I don't think it's that people having differing opinions. There are lots of people who support Mike as a person and aspiring professional without endorsing his lifestyle. Thinking that homosexuality is a sin doesn't make you intolerant. What makes you intolerant is if you think he should be penalized by employers, friends or society in general for it.

I have gay friends. I won't pretend to understand their lifestyle, but I love them regardless and don't think they're any less than me for it. Any sin they're committing is no worse than some of mine. Or at least that's how I look at it. They are still wonderful, kind, smart, loyal people that I feel blessed to know.

Buck, it's not always the opinion expressed, it's the manner in which it is expressed. Your post is reasonable and it's safe to say that many share your opinion. I can only assume you were speaking about Mizzou1 and, if so, I can tell you what he said was WELL beyond simply saying he believed it was a sin.

FYI, my religion tells me homosexuality is a sin as well. I still don't think any less of Sam. Staying true to my religious beliefs and yet being tolerant, I can tell you I view Sam no different today than I did the day before I learned he was homosexual. He was a sinner that played for the University of Missouri before he announced and he's a sinner that played for the University of Missouri after he announced. And I view him no different than any other player on that team. He was 1 of 85 sinners playing for the University of Missouri.

I understand you believe homosexuality is a sin. I would also assume you believe that every player on the team is a sinner. So my question to you would be do you view Sam any differently than any of the other players since we know they are all sinners?

Likewise, Sam was a sinner before acting on his homosexuality and was a sinner after acting on it. So if he's a sinner both before and after acting on his homosexuality, do your feelings or thoughts or the way you view Sam change simply because he's still a sinner?

Simply curious. No compulsion to answer.

It was how he said what he said. Say what you want about Sams lifestyle, but he's not bringing shame to the university.

I guarantee that you and I would disagree on a lot of things, but I respect your ideas and opinions.

I don't respect Mizzou1's view that Sam is bringing shame to the university.
