Read my response again. By your question, I'm not sure that you understood my response. My response in no way states or implies that head coaches aren't supposed to be motivating. Here's my response:

"No, he's not supposed to call his defense the worst in America, but he's supposed to be a head coach, not a cheerleader.

That film was a whole lot of cheerleading.

There is an important and discernible difference between using positive reinforcement to promote improvement and telling your defense they're already the best unit in the country."

He's trying to set a precedent of what's expected you goober. Yes, the video is a lot of cheerleading. It's a promo video.

I understand where you are coming from but please explain how telling the D they are the best in America is cheer leading? Was the film a bunch of cheer leading yes, did it rustle some jimmies yes. Are you going to tell me Helen Hunt has never told the dawgs they are the best damn team in the country?
