I realize with how we finished last year that expectations are at an all time high, but the we were only slightly above average (by MSU standards) during the regular season. Just wondering what everyone's expectations are record wise.

My expectations this year are national seed. Want to host a regional and a super.

I think y'all will be very good again, probably finish top 3 in the conference during the regular season. Y'all always get hot during the SEC tourney so I wouldn't be surprised at all to see y'all host a Supa this year.

Overall, it was somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd best season in MSU history last year -- depending on what you value most. We lost 2 total games in the nonconference in the regular season. I don't care if you are playing MC and JSU, that's impressive. 16-14 in conference, on the other hand, is not. But then you have a deep run in the SEC tourney before the rest of the postseason makes it special. Think it was the 3rd 50+ win season in our history...

We were 40-16 in the regular season last year. I think we should win 43-44 in the regular season this year. RPI-wise, it's going to be hard to get a national seed if we don't win the conference or at least the west, because our in-conference SOS is so much easier this year.

I just hope we have more balance throughout the lineup. Renfroe,Frazier, sometimes Rea when he actually hit it, was about the extent of our offense last year. Not to mention we lost some very good arms from last year. Guess I'm just cautiously optimistic.

We were the 3rd best hitting team in the SEC last year. No one was "carrying" us.

ETA: I know what you mean though -- because they did carry us early in the noncon until Pirtle and Detz got going...

The only one of us who needs an expectation reduction is Bundy, he probably already has his flights booked for Omaha.

I'm with Req. I hope for us to host a super this year, but I won't be disappointed unless we don'f host a regional. All in all though, once post-season play matters I don't care where we are as long as we're playing.

Expectations should be the same every year now:

Host a regional and make it to a Super

Host a Regional and Host a Super Regional and be in the mix for an overall SEC title.
