2. Unrealistic expectations in preseason polls are a major factor in major disappointments. Perfect examples are the Big 12 coaches preseason poll prior to the 2011-2012 basketball season and the extreme expectations for the 2013 football season. How many preseason #1 teams in college baseball have crashed and burned over the last couple of years?

Not only that, Coach Sumlin has a reputation as knowing what he's talking about. Hyman has a reputation at South Carolina too...and not a good one.

Childress did enough to save his job. Unfortunately, it's like when Slocum won the Big 12 in 1998. The best we'll ever do under Childress going forward is making a regional as a 2 or 3 seed. If and when that's deemed not good enough, action will happen.
