Top247 wide receiver Carlos Strickland has a double-digit offer list, but he's told the Geaux247 staff that he's narrowed his focus enough to name a lead group of five teams.

"I have a top five," Strickland said. "It's LSU, Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma State and Clemson."

Miami became the latest school to offer the Skyline High (Dallas) four-star prospect when they extended a scholarship on Thursday morning. Strickland is ranked by the 247Composite as the No. 15 wide receiver in the country, the No. 15 prospect in Texas and the No. 127 overall prospect in the 2015 class.

Offensive lineman Matthew Burrell (Woodbridge, Va./C.D. Hylton) has a list of 38 scholarship offers including Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State, LSU, South Carolina, Florida State, Florida, Texas, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame. He plans to take all five official visits before selecting a college. There is a chance Burrell could announce at least one of his official visits in the next couple of days.

“I’m not sure for a fact,” Burrell said. “I’m still analyzing it. But I might even announce (something) this weekend.”

Burrell has visited Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina State and North Carolina. He plans to visit Alabama, Florida, LSU, Auburn and probably Florida State this summer.

The 6-foot-5 and 308-pound Burrell, a 4-star in the 247Sports Composite, is the country’s No. 75 overall prospect, the No. 10 offensive tackle, and the No. 4 prospect in Virginia.
