Nolan's biggest advantage was also his biggest fault, and that was the chip on his shoulder. The man set out to prove himself as a black coach, and by God he did.

But even after going to 3 Final Fours in 6 years, winning a National Championship, and playing for another, Nolan never got the respect he thought he deserved.

Was Nolan a racist? I don't think so. But he did dwell on his perceived notion of racial inequality, whether justified or not.

I'll always love him for what he did. The 90's were unreal as a Hog bball fan.

Hated how things ended, should have been a natural turnover to Mike when Nolan was ready to leave.

Our AD made a mistake and we've paid for it ever since.
