Staff got a commitment today for the 2020 cycle: C/PF Patrick Iriel out of A C Flora. A quality in-state prospect. His video highlights have a lot of dunking, but most of the opposition in those videos seemed to be a bit on the short side - he is anywhere around 6-9, 6-10, and he had a lot of 6-5, 6-6 SF types on him.

But he looks to have an all-around decent game - he hit on a 3-ptr, but there was only one of those in his two highlight films, so he probably doesn't do much of that. He at least looks like a big that has an interest in playing a bit above the rim, unlike Kotsar who seemed to be averse to the practice during his time at USC.

Don't know how his confidence would be once he goes against legit physical bigs in the SEC, but he looks like a positive addition to the program, especially with Kotsar and Henry going to be gone when 2020-21 comes around....

He is extremely raw but has potential.

South Carolina adds to Patrick Iriel and adds a 2nd big to the 2020 cycle, with local product 6-8 PF Ja'Von Benson out of Ridge View.

Benson chose USC over College of Charleston, and also had offers from James Madison, Murray State, Mercer, and Indiana State among others.

Benson completes the 2020 class with Iriel. With transfer Seventh Woods expected to take a scholarship next season when he becomes eligible, Benson's commitment takes the final available scholarship for 2020-21, unless there is unforeseen attrition to the roster....
