It's so damn frustrating because you can't grab the problem and "fix" it like removing a tumor. Also, at least in the case of my brother and a few others I have known, they are adept at hiding their demons from the ones around them. Just totally sucks.

You pretty much nailed it. It is so hard to corral the problem and even those who take meds, their body chemicals change through aging that it is a battle for the meds staying effective. Like you said so many refuse to share and it can be a helpless feeling for you and the sufferer. I can promise you they want to share, but they choose not to for many reasons.

Again, I am sorry for your loss and know your pain.
