Here's my opinion: he gets a free ride to go college under the stipulation he will play football.

On the flip side of that, UGA is making millions of dollars off the football players. Hell it is probably the only profitable sport at UGA and it provides money for all other sports and academics. The players get a free ride, but what is that compared to the millions made off these guys every year, then throw in that they are there from 3-5 years.

For JHC, hes gonna be here 3 yrs, especially w/ these suspensions. So how much of free college is he getting? Like 50,000$ or so? That is so small compared to the millions he and his team will make for the school, so frick it, let him drink and smoke. He isn't harming other people, other than getting suspended for some stupid policies. And just b/c its a policy or rule doesnt make it right....remember when women couldn't vote or the times of slavery??

Can't agree with this line of thinking. Sure, the school makes millions off these guys. however, every business makes money off their employees. If they did not, they would not be in business. The amount they make is immaterial.

When the players sign their LOI, they are, in effect, signing a contract. The school agrees to provide competent coaching and a free education. the players agree to work out and conduct themselves in a certain way.

If he leaves after three years that is his decision, not the schools. If he feels he is being short changed, then he should stay in school for the entire four years.

You might want to check out you figures. You are WAY off. When you consider tuition, room and board, etc...three years comes out to be MUCH more than that.

Yes. He is. Our country has certain laws and everybody is expected to live by them. If they do not, then there are consequences to pay. We have WAY too many drunks and high people on our roads today. We don't need another kid on the road killing another innocent kid or family because "he wants to".

Seriously? You are going to say smoking pot is equal to slavery or a woman's right to vote? REALLY?
