$4 million dollar raise

And well worth it IMHO.

The university’s Board of Trustees is set to meet via teleconference at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday to vote on and approve contract extensions and raises for the Gamecocks’ entire football staff, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. While specific terms were not available for the entire staff, head coach Steve Spurrier is expected to receive a raise from $3.3 million to $4 million per year.

Spurrier received a two-year extension in 2012 that will keep him at USC through the 2017 season but a salary increase was not included in the deal. Spurrier had been given a $475,000 bump to $3.3 million after the 2011 season.

Spurrier will rise from the 12th-highest-paid coach in the country to ninth as well.

It appears that the Gamecocks’ staff will also remain intact for the first time under Spurrier. USC has added at least one new coach in each of Spurrier’s nine years at the school.

USC’S CURRENT FOOTBALL STAFF
(with 2013 salaries)
Steve Spurrier (head coach) -- $3.3 million
Deke Adams (defensive line) -- $225,000

Joe Robinson (special teams coordinator) -- $325,000
Everette Sands (running backs) -- $215,000
Steve Spurrier Jr. (co-offensive coordinator/recruiting coordinator/wide receivers) -- $325,000
Lorenzo Ward (defensive coordinator) -- $650,000

I'd like to see a value index b/w total salaries, W/L record, and Final AP and Coaches Rankings.

Good for Spurrier. He's got a Top 10 program right now, he should get paid like a Top 10 Coach.

We should definitely be paying Elliott and Mangus more.

Mangus hasn't been able to receive a raise for the past few years because of the incident in Greenville.

Hopefully he'll finally get his well deserved raise this year

Hyman is gone, GA is going to catch-up beginning with this new contract big time.
