The point is though that the thread is about "are we concerned" and the answer is "no." He can have success, we can have success- there is enough talent in Texas to go around.

What killed us during our time in the Big 12 was two things: OU got second pick of Texas talent instead of us, and Mack Brown worked politics to make sure when we did get our pick it wasn't players we needed.

Those two situations are gone. Strong could kill it at Texas, bring in top 5 recruiting classes, and we can still bring in top 10 classes ourselves.

I would have been "concerned" if Briles would have been hired. He would have only recruited instate and would have really gone toe-to-toe for almost every recruit we wanted (same offensive style, same shite defense, etc.).

I would have been "concerned" if it would have been Saban, as simply his presence would have raised the profile of the RRR back to where it was in the 00's which would hurt our recruiting by helping OU's exposure.

But Strong simply was the best option for us short of a bad coach. So we are cool with it.
