I thought Saban's comments bout his yrs under Belichek (?) were telling, in that the two of them are two peas in a pod, personality & coaching style wise. If he was "miserable" then, he should stop and consider how many of his former/current coaches feel coaching under him. And don't say they all love and admire him, as they don't, not by a long shot.
I understand you are probably a female, but come on, its football. There have been plenty of coaches that have left Saban's program and have come back. Doesnt sound quite as abusive as you are making it out to be.

No you should come on. This isn't just football it's life. If you're in the work force and you haven't had a boss that is a complete jerk, then you are very lucky. You just have to look deeper and see if this boss can teach you anything that can help you move up, and maybe one day be a boss. I believe that is what Saban does, and these guys know that if they work for him they have a very good chance of becoming a head coach one day, and making very very good money. The only ones that do not like working for him are the lazy ones, and they won't do well anyway, and he shouldn't have wasted his time with them.
These lazy coaches will only show the players how to be lazy. The players for Saban knows that he expects them to put in a lot of hard work, but they see that he puts in even more than they do.
He teaches our kids to have a work ethic, and I'd rather have that than a coach that coddles them.
