To each his own, but I'm not sure how much of that you can lay at one position coach's feet when the whole defense was mediocre and tackled poorly. Obviously bringing in a retread isn't exciting, but he was part of some very stout defenses at Bama so I don't see it being completely terrible.

It's not like he came into a lack of talent at UTx. Heck his first year they were in the top ten in rushing defense. It was the two years afterward that were pretty bad defensively. At first I thought it was a terrible hire. Now I think it's a meh hire. Given that we may lose 5 star Christian Miller over Rumph leaving, I was hoping for more than a meh hire.
