Dude's wife goes missing. We hear his recounting of the events as they unfold combined with their backstory from her diary's perspective.
Each chapter switches back and forth between his apathetic search for her and her detailing of their relationship from happy beginnings to deteriorating marriage.
Then it gets effed up.
