No it didn't. Aside from the 08 season, Tenn's offend was pretty prolific. Kiffin really didn't do anything to improve that.
This is possibly the dumbest remark in this whole thread. Teams prior to 2008 weren't saddled with Jonathan fricking Crompton at QB. Kiffin took a guy who was crap and turned him into a damn good SEC QB who was actually drafted. He helped Montario Hardesty become a absolute beast, gaining over 1300. Kiffin took the steaming pile of shite he inherited on offense and increased their offensive production over 100 yards a game. If you can't see the obvious improvement offensively at Tennessee under Kiffin, there's just no helping you.

Lane is a serviceable OC and from an X's and O's stand point its an OK hire. The real issue for Bama's program is whether he can bow down to the master. Saban is a hard driving task master and he won't take one ounce of shite off that smug bastard. Can Lane deal with being put in his place on a regular basis? Pete Carrol is nothing like Saban.
The great thing for the rest of the SEC is the fact that Lane will cheat his arse off on the recruiting trail and won't give a shite if he burns bridges or not. The man has NO loyalty to anyone except the man he looks at in the mirror. It is likely he'll get the REC/Bama in a position that it'll be hard to buy or explain their way out of and do his best to burn that program to the ground on his way out of town.
He is who he is - not even Saban can change that.
