First, speaking for myself, I am not butthurt at all over this. We finished 2nd in the East. We lost to Tennessee which totally took us out of the big picture. Inexcusable loss, but it happens sometimes, unfortunately.
Sure, it stings to see the others in the SEC pile on the accolades because (forgive us for this next part) we are human and we know, for a fact, that head to head, we did beat Mizzou.
Someone said it best the other night in a thread when they stated something to the effect of the Gamecocks could win a National Championship, find enough gold buried in the football field to make everyone rich, discover every secret regarding life on earth, etc, etc, etc and STILL all they would have to say in regard to our success was one thing: Tennessee.

Is that fair? No
Is that our reality? Unfortunately yes.

Having said all that, congrats on an awesome season, Mizzou. In all sincerity I have been impressed all year with your resiliency and I'm proud to call you a member of the SEC.
