This is actually a good question, parity drives profits in the NFL...guess you'd have to ask an ESPN exec why they think it's a good idea to put all their weight behind a Bama team year after year...same thing with USC but I get it for a California TV market...

Parity is so natural and consistent in the NFL though. Every year there is a good amount of turnover in which teams make the playoffs.
I think there is more parity right now than say 5 years ago in college football. And it's probably good for the sport. I'm fairly young. Has it always been this way (in regards to cfb) with the media or is this new?
The homerism at espn through all sports has pretty much stopped me from watching espn at all except for games. I choose a slightly less biased Avenue for sports news.
