I would say it has less to do with God and more to do with priorities when it comes to family values. You can have sound family values without religion IMO.

The misunderstanding here is that to a Protestant Christian, the entire concept of morality is based on sin, which is based in the Bible, which is a book about God. To them, they are one and the same. Morality can and does exist outside of a religious context.
