Would Mizzou have made the top 10 if they were in the Big 12 still?

Y'all should thank us!

No. We could have had the exact same type of season in the Big 12 and the best we could have hoped would be to be ranked around where Oklahoma State is on that list. So thank you, times a million.

That said, I don't think many on here expected Mizzou to be anything other than around that 23 to 25 cluster of Ole Miss/MSU/Arky type grouping at best, and sure as hell nobody on here expected us to be standing alongside UGA/LSU/Auburn in the Top 10 in year two. So you're welcome.

Absolutely not I noticed that there were no Big 12 teams in the top 15, and only 2 in the top 25 (OU and Okie Lite.) Not even Baylor with the season they had, cracked the list. It wouldn't have mattered if we'd been undefeated in the Big 12, we wouldn't have had the ratings we enjoyed as an SEC team. We are happy to be here!

Honestly, though, I doubt we'd have had this season in the Big 12. That conference is structured in such a way that the rich get richer, and we weren't at the top of the food chain so the deck would have been stacked against us - just like it was stacked against Baylor. Plus, our alumni/fans and sponsors would not be supporting the program at the same level had we stayed in the Big 12. This move has been wonderful for Mizzou in every way.

Texas, meanwhile, has built the conference they wanted, and the one they deserve. I hope they struggle in mediocrity there for years to come.
