ESPN
USC vs Wisc in the Cap One (both Schlabach and Edwards picked this.)
Wisc is #21 in BCS, 9-3 record

CBS Sports
USC vs Iowa in the Outback
Iowa is not ranked, 8-4 record

SB Nation
USC vs Iowa in the Outback
Iowa is not ranked, 8-4 record

Scout.com
USC vs Iowa in the Outback
Iowa is not ranked, 8-4 record

National Football Post
USC vs Iowa in the Outback
Iowa is not ranked, 8-4 record

Phil Steele
USC vs Iowa in the Outback
Iowa is not ranked, 8-4 record

Sports Illustrated
USC vs Miami in the Peach Bowl
Miami is not ranked, 9-3 record

USA Today
USC vs Wisc in the Cap One
Wisc is #21 in BCS, 9-3 record

So the overwhelming prediction is USC vs Iowa in the Outback. It's a decent bowl, but I'd rather go to the Cap One. We still have a shot at the Cap 1 if Mizz loses to Aub, which I believe will happen.

I know there were rumors about the Peach Bowl or the Cotton, but with all the national picks saying something different, I don't either will be our destination.

There's only one way it will not happen from what I understand as of yesterday ... and that is if the SEC can convince the Cotton to take Mizzou (provided Auburn beats Mizzou and, even if not the Cotton is likely to take Auburn).

Evidently the Cotton only wants teams from the West because of travel distances (Tennessee was the lone exception and they failed to travel well that year ... and lost in the snow), but the SEC is trying to convince the Cotton that Mizzou fans are excited and close enough to make it worth their while.

We shall see I suppose.

The Outback does not want us. They didn't come right out and say it, but you could tell ... they spent some time in our Cockaboose after the game. Even the Outback folks were saying they expect us to go to Atlanta.

Vs Miami in the Peach is the most fun matchup, IMO. The Big 10(12) is absolutely atrocious, and no one is going to get excited about playing Iowa again.

I know it's a longshot, but I'd love the Cotton vs a Texas, Oklahoma, or a Baylor.

How crazy is it that we used to celebrate going to the Independence Bowl, and now we're complaining about Cap 1/Outback??

I do not want another Big 10ish opponent in a Florida bowl

I stand by my offer to bet 1 million dollars that we play Duke in the chickfila bowl

Attendance will be worse than last time this matchup happened.

How I see it:

Iowa
Pro's
* Winnable
* Chance to get revenge for 2009 Outback bowl

Con's
* Boring game
* Third Florida trip in a row
* Third B1G opponent in a row and less prestigious than Nebraska and Michigan

Wisconsin
Pro's
* Wisconsin fans are fun to party with
* First meeting between two teams
* Winnable (but the toughest of the three)

Con's
* See Iowa notes though slightly less boring

Miami
Pro's
* Atlanta,
* First time playing them since '87 (15 meetings)
* Chance to beat them for the first time since '47.
* Winnable (easiest of the three I think)
* I like to beat up on the ACC

Con's
* Lowest bowl of all the projections.

The Cotton would be cool because we've never played there and don't often face Big 12 Opponents - we haven't played a team that's currently in the conference since WVU in 1995.

Out of all the projections I hope we get Miami in the Peach the most, I'm rooting against the Wisconsin option.
