We were this close...

I just want to remind you how good this Missouri team is now that I am sitting here and really thinking deep about it.
Obviously we are 11-1, and won the SEC East outright. We clearly deserve this shot at the conference title, which I dont think a lot of people understand. I get that the vibe is weird that Missouri is playing in the big game for the SEC, but we are no fluke. If anything, we should be considered national contenders.
We have beaten every team in our path, except one game. We went into double overtime against South Carolina, the #8 team in the BCS standings. I am aware they were without Shaw most of the game, but then again we were missing Franklin and E.J. Gaines. How did we lose? A shanked field goal. Off the upright. Who knows? Had E.J. Gaines been playing, 4th and 15 might not have ever been completed. Hell, it might not have gone into OT or 2OT in the first place. And I do believe if we had the team we are walking into Saturday with vs SCAR we would be undefeated. I was there, and that game was a heart break and I feel like it did a lot of damage to our confidence and reputation across the country. We were literally a few lucky bounces from being 12-0. Lets say that kick went 6 inches to the right, how do you think people would perceive us? Better than OSU? Better than Bama and Auburn? The funny thing is, we are the same team.
That being said... We are the best, if not, a very close second team this year in the SEC. We should win this football game. I just feel like we are still waiting for the final heatbreak, but I think that came against SCAR. I think we got this from here on out. Im not saying the BCSNCG, but whatever is thrown at us. Right now I dont care about our bowl. Everyone is so focused on that. I couldnt give less of a shite, we got to come out and win this SECCG, and make a national statement. Let it be known that we are a top tier-team in the nations best conference.

There is an eerie feeling that the ghost of 5th downs and kicked ball past's may be gone. It is eerie as I am afraid to have another glass of kool aide. Circumstance has done this to us, this team has freed us from it. They have won the games they were supposed to, and, as you mentioned almost beat Columbia South without Frank and Gaines. In the past without our best corner and #1 QB, that game would have been ugly. This is a TEAM! And, I am proud of them. Columbia raised, Tiger for life!

The best part about this game is that it is not in Jordan-Hare because of all of the miracles, and also because the North Endzone isnt there.
