Yes, the chances of a zombie apoc are 1 and a zillion. However, the aftermath of an all out Nuke attack would be catastrophic to the govt and social culture of our country. Once the main food supply chain is compromised, people will do "awful" things to keep themselves and their groups alive.

It's just simple logic that there are more threats (people who could come and try to take what you have) on the mainland US as opposed to an island off the coast of South America. Just watch out for the Pirates in the Caribbean.
