What do you guys think the chances are that we get either Wesley Green or DJ Smith?

Wesley Green is gone.

Dunno a/b DJ Smith... wasn't he supposed to be a S, anyways? Heard some rumblings a/b Lammons, no clue where we are w/ that.

Amazing to me that we can offer early PT on a SEC contending team that routinely puts DB's in the NFL and we can't get these top targets to sign. Next year's D could be a lot worse than what we're used to.

Unfortunately I think this may be true. His coach has been pushing him to UGA the whole time we have been recruiting him. Really is unfortunate because he could have a shot at PT early on.

There are reports that its not true, but I think we will just have to wait and see.

There is a reason we've seen some gradual drop off in our DB talent.

The loss of Ron Cooper ... it is finally catching-up to us.

50% on Green
10% on Smith

Green wanted to be at USC. His coach pushed him to decommit and consider uga. He still hasn't committed to uga, so I think that's a plus. I think he waits until NSD so he has less time to catch less flack from his HS coach and then commits to USC.

We've talked to DJ Smith for a while, but we toned down our pursuit while Green was committed. When he Green pulled out, we turned up the talk to Smith. I think clemson and tenn lead for Smith. He still is going to come here for an OV, so we might be able to make more of a move, but that's still up in the air.

Both he and Green should come to USC though, and I mean that as an objective outsider, no homerism. Our depth chart is MUCH more favorable and we have a better track record of putting high quality DB's in the NFL than UGA. UGA puts people in the NFL, but they can't touch us on DB's.
