I don't have it and sorry to hijack your thread, but I would like to know everyone's opinions on who is replacing SOS.
He say's he'll be there for Mitch through '17, which is great, and I am by no means tired of SOS in the slightest, he is the most entertaining coach in CFB. I just want to know what everyone's shortlist is.

We already talked about mine. I think Elliott gets a serious look.
Past that, it's too difficult to predict who the hot coaching names will be in five or so years.

I think Spurrier has three seasons left in him following this one. Less if he gets hardware. Man, I'd love to send him out on top.
Charlie Strong has to get a look, I would imagine. UF might get there first, though.

Would like someone not on staff, I'll thi.k of a few names and post later. But that's going to be a hige decision for Tanner on who he decides to come in after Spurrier is done.

Anything in particular you wondering about?
I was standing right beside Holtz in the Letterman's Lounge, at the podium, when he gave his departing speech. And I was sitting right in front of Spurrier, I was sitting beside Ansley Earhardt, when Spurrier stood at a different podium in The Zone and said, "why not us?"

Charlie would love to come back into the SEC one day, I know that for a fact. But ... I dunno. I just don't know.
I think we'll know more about Charlie as a head coach after he's had three more years, all of them playing in the ACC.

I have a guy making a tribute video for me. I need that clip. I've seen it several times before, but I can't seem to simply google. it or search it on youtube.

I may ... may, mind you, have it somewhere on one of my old computers. I'll look for it. I know I still have the audio of Holtz's farewell rant, and I may have the audio of Spurrier as well, on the same disc, but I'm not sure where I put the video of Spurrier. I will check though. I've just got to walk into that room and boot those PCs up and see if they are still there or not.
I remember it like yesterday though ... he was wearing a black suit and a garnet and black tie with white speckled in there and his hair didn't have a drop of grey in it at the time. He reached out, shook my hand, asked Kerry Tharpe who I was and ... well, Ansley pinched my arm and said, "you lucky dog you," and gave me one of those big smiles of hers then petted the seat beside here and asked me to sit down with her.
Then, once his podium time was done we moved over to a table on the west end of The Zone, one of those folding tables, and Kerry grabbed me and sat me down at the end of the table and said, "don't let anyone else get behind this table, OK?" And I said, sure ... next thing I know Spurrier was sitting beside me answering questions from the media.
The rest of the day was very eventful. At one point Spurrier asks me, "you know anything about the recruiting around here?" I said, "yes I do." He asked, "who is the top recruit in this class?" I said, "well, there is this DB out of Florida who was committed to us but I think he just flopped to your Gators." He said, "I don't care about him. Who is the one already committed that is coming ...?" At that time I assumed he needed to be brought up to date on the class he was inheriting. I said, "this kicker out of NC named Ryan Succop, I think he is going to be your best recruit in this class Coach." He said, "a kicker, really? That'll be a first for me ..."
The rest of the story is boring.
I'll look for that video.

haha, that's a good story.
What are your thoughts on starting a thread with interesting side notes, observations, conversations you had with USC officials.
Thread Title Ideas:
I was sauced and this guy says to me...
Coop Chronicles: Things I heard at USC....
SCRooster's Booster Banter....
I'm too drunk to taste this fried chicken, but....

He turned out to be a hell of a player though.
Yes he did. And on a side note, my wife was in love with him. All the women thought he was cute.
So four years later we're at The Stadium Club anniversary celebration for one of the insurance companies my company used, Davis Garvin.
Ryan was there with his future wife, already graduated and all that, and we're standing there talking and drinking a beer. My wife walks up and it was the first time she had ever met him and she was all giddy and batting her eyes so I say, "Honey, remember the story about Spurrier asking me about the recruit and ..." and she cuts me off and finishes the story and he then tells him he is gorgeous. So he thanks her, looks at me, says Mr. So-and-so ... yes sir, Coach told me about that ... that was you?"
Then he whips his black (Russell I think it was), Gamecock sweatshirt off and hands it to my wife.
She sleeps in the thing all the time in cold weather ... still has his name on the back. I laugh every time I go in there and see her wearing it.
Ryan is just a good all around guy. Salt of the earth. He knew just how to says thanks to me ... if that makes sense.
He'll be back on day. He's part of the new Gamecocks we're churning out these days ... one of the first.
