So how do you see it playing out - and which would you prefer?

There are three best possible scenarios.

1 - We win-out. Mizzou loses a game and Auburn beats Georgia. We go to Atlanta where I personally like our chances against Bama.

2 - We win-out. Georgia beats Auburn and Mizzou loses a game. We go to the Sugar as the at-large SEC rep.

3 - Auburn wins out and beat Bama in the process. We win out and the rest of #1 happens and we face Auburn in Atlanta.

**************************

Others

4 - We beat Florida and Coastal but lose to Clemson. Everything else in #1 happens and we still go to Atlanta.

5 - We beat Florida and Coastal but lose to Clemson. Everything else happens in #2 and we end-up in the Peach or back in Tampa.

6 - Auburn wins-out, we lose to Clemson and face Auburn in Atlanta for the SECCG.

Those are about the only six I possibly see happening.

Which one do you see happening and which one do you prefer?

Well, we can make it to Atlanta and the Sugar bowl. So, that one.

I've been debating this as well. I want the one where we go to Atlanta to face Bama, I think we may have a chance and while it may hurt the SEC I don't care, it's the best outcome for us.

Second favorite option is we win out but things don't play out and we don't make the CG and then play in a good bowl though I doubt it'd be the Sugar.

Option 7.

We win out, UGA loses to Aub, Mizz loses to Ole Miss, but beat's A&M, we face and undefeated Bama team in the SECCG. We beat Bama and go to the Sugar. We wing the Sugar and finish #5 in the Final rankings.

Why are we so sure that the Sugar Bowl takes a 2 loss USC over a 2 loss Auburn, Mizzou or A&M?

Sugar will take the highest ranked SEC team who sin't playing in the BCSCG or the SECCG winner who isn't playing in the BCSCG.

If Mizzou wins out or causes the 3 way tie and reps the SECe in the SECCG, then we will beat out Aub, Mizzou and aTm for the Sugar b/c:
Aub will have a late season loss to Bama,
Mizzou will have a late season loss aTm,
aTm is going to lose @ LSU, (giving them 3 losses.)

If USC wins out, Mizzou loses 1, and USC goes to the SECCG, our only shot at the Sugar is to win the SECCG. If we have 3 losses we are going to the Cap One and Aub or Mizzou (whoever is ranked higher) goes to the Sugar.

It's really all about the late season losses by the other possible teams.

IF Bama loses to Aub, then the whole scenario above is fricked. USC would go to the Cap One or Outback.

That's speculation. Sugar will take the team most likely to sell out their ticket allotment and draw ratings.

In that case, we have a unique selling point: we've never been to a BCS bowl and theoretically our fans would pour into NOLA, ticket or not. On the flip side, Auburn and A&M are closer and have a much larger national following.

They are still controlled by some of the rules for BCS Bowl Selection, such as, they can't take a team who'd not in the Top 14, unless there aren't any teams from that conference in the Top 14, so they have to expand to Top 18 and add Non-AQ schools.

A&M won't be in the Top 14 if they lose a 3rd game to LSU. So that would eliminate them. Aub would be ranked outside the Top 10 (after losing to Bama) and we would be #8ish (if we win out the Reg Season and don't go to the SECCG.)

So it could come down to Aub and USC for the Sugar in that scenario.

USC never having been to a BCS bowl will be really attractive, we would sell our allotment in a heartbeat. I personally would go to the game myself. We've had a record of traveling well in the bowl community. We sold our allotment for the past 2 Outbacks and Cap One. This game will travel even better b/c it's a destination we've never played in and the biggest bowl game of our program's history. People will respond to that.

#1, no doubt.

I think it's a given that UGA loses to AU. Mizz will lose to Atm.

I've been to the Sugar Bowl, it's a great time. New Year's in NOLA can't be beat.

Hope you're right a/b being picked over Auburn. They've got a lot to offer, too.
