Not perverted. It's also so religion can't get involved in govt so the rest of us don't have to live by another's reigious dogma - like they have to Iran.

Seriously? Show me where anyone at all has interpreted that religious people cannot get involved in government.

The Constitution clearly says that it is so the government cannot establish a religion and promote it. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with religious people or organizations getting involved in government.
