Football is certainly a different game today than it was in 1971.

I visited the Heisman house display with my son and 2 LSU friends before AU LSU 2012. We were amazed at how many Heisman winners stats were unimpressive by today's standards.

For instance look up Billy Cannan's stats or Sullivan's. Those stats would not make all SEC second team today, but in the context of the time these men were great.
