My old AOL group went round and round about this guy. I didn't like him and thought he shouldn't have stayed as long as he did. Your thoughts?

This was the first of many mistakes Phillip would make while he began driving UT football off a cliff. Around the time Cutcliffe left, Fulmer could've hired just about any OC he wanted. Instead, he promotes this goofball from inside. Turrible.

I thought Sanders was a good QB coach. When he came to UK, Woodson got immediately better, it was like night and day.
Had some good games as OC and some so so.

Sanders was an awful coordinator and his play calling was atrocious.

There were a few exceptions. He did a great job in calling the BCS CG against Florida State, and he did a very nice job in '04 with two Freshmen QBs. Randy is a quality QB coach. I wanted him to succeed, but he was in over his head. I think he actually benefited from coaching someplace where the talent level wasn't better than his opposition. Leaving UT may wind up being the best thing that could happen to his development as a coach.
ETA...he certainly seems to be doing a good job wtih the QB at Florida State.

I agree he had a few good moments, but there wasn't too many of them. I just remember being angry at the shite he called over and over.
I hope the best for a local guy that played for UT, just as long as he's never calling plays on the hill again.
