She finally told me what was bothering her (I think?) and it makes things a hair more complicated, but it doesn't change the way I feel about her (which she thought it would). Just means I'm going to have to put in a bit more effort sometimes and I'm perfectly happy with that.

She told you she used to be a dude... J/k

But, seriously go get it.

The one maybe positive thing that came out of our conversation was that she said she might take a break from school. I have a 2 bed room apartment and live by myself, so I told her she is more than welcome to crash with me while she gets her affairs in order.

So, I might in fact be going to kidnap (willingly, though) her back to Auburn.

You can get in the industry without being a PE. The majority of the tools guys are mechanical engineers that get paid really well and don't know shite about a lot of petroleum stuff. It's our economies driver, there are PLENTY of paths to take.

Oh, yeah. I know. My dad and I have talked about it a good bit. Lot of Mech and Chem guys in the oil field. As well as some geologists.

Good thing about MechE, there really isn't a field I can't go into. I'm the jack-of-all-trades Engineer.
