Reaction to Tennessee game

Obviously the knee jerk reaction is to blame Spurrier and the playcalling- and I think its a fair criticism. With 6 minutes to go Mike Davis, as the best player on offense should have gotten more touches in an attempt to run out the clock. Using the 2 timeouts without going for the 4th and 2 was also a questionable decision. Once the timeout were used I'd have liked to see us go for it (11-16 on 4th down I believe)
But something that shouldn't be lost is that the players simply didn't execute well enough to win the game. Going into the 4th quarter the only players with positive yards were Shaw, Davis and Byrd. The offensive line struggled to both run and pass block and Shaw held onto the ball/wrs weren't getting open.
Finally the consistently poor performance on special teams finally cost us a game. Penalties on returns, poor fielding decisions, a terrible punt and a missed fg all contributed to this loss.
The defense looked much improved, especially in run defense but still allowed a few 3rd and longs late in the game. One i'll credit to North being a beastly receiver but another one was on Golightly for missing the sack on Worley in the backfield. He doesn't deserve a scholarship and I hope he doesn't return to the team next year.
Moving forward we're fortunate that both UGA and UF lost today and it will be interesting to see how the team responds on the road next week against Missouri. This could be a rallying point for the rest of the season or the beginning of the wheels falling off.
Hopefully Shaw and Quarles make speedy recoveries because they are huge parts on both sides of the ball

Spurrier playcalling & use of timeouts were awful.
Shaw easily had his worse game of the season, just didn't play well at all today.
Defense looks to have turned a corner, much improved since UK and before. Offense put them in a lot of bad positions today giving UT a short field most of the day on Offense.
Special teams sucked as usual, any big play we might have had came back b/c of penalties.
Just disappointed that we now don't have a shot at the East, any season we're not in contention or we win it seems like a failure after the 2010 season. For me anyway.

We're still in the race. UGA still has Auburn (leading aTm in 4th) and Florida. Missouri still has us, UT and aTm.
Obviously things would have looked better had we won today but considering we lost all the right things happened.

I just don't think Mizzou's gonna lose 2 games tbh.

Obviously we have to win next week or its irrelevant

ahh pump that sunshine and the team will keep pumping pure shite.

Probably gonna get flamed for this, but i thought shaw was absolutely horrible today. Play calling wasn't great but above average qbs complete passes when their number is called. shite, we had a 2/1 run pass ratio. Shaw has to do better. We cant run davis into a bloody pulp because our qb turns into a scared little child on the road. Missing Brandon Wilds really hurts because obviously the coaches have NO confidence in Carson.

In what way did I pump sunshine?

Certainly wasn't one of his better games but the oline was pretty awful in pass protection.
He didn't get any help from his receivers either with 3 drops in the first quarter. And its hard to see on T.V. whether or not receivers were getting open.
Had a friend in Knoxville who said the receivers were doing a terrible job of beating the UT dbs and with the way the coaches talked up the UT secondary this week I'm inclined to believe him but take it for what its worth.

" Were still in the race". C'mon man all the personal bs aside we suck a fat gaggle of silver back gorillas cock right now. We aint going a damned place but maybe the Carquest. My bright spot this year will be Clemson, hopefully.

I'm not sure if you know what being a fan is all about. If you shite on your team every week and expect them to lose on the regular, you're not a fan. You're an a-hole.
Fact is, this team (even with two whole losses...) is still in the race. They need to win out and get some help, but the season isn't over by any stretch of the imagination. To get to the Carquest bowl we'd have to be in the area of 7-5. So you are looking at the remaining schedule and assuming three losses?
Missouri will be tough, but going in expecting to lose is silly. We still have talent, it's just not consistent. When it comes together and plays like it should you get Arkansas, when it doesn't you get Tennessee. The remaining four games are at home, advantage us. MSU and Coastal are wins, even a doom and gloomer like yourself must see that. Florida has a solid D, but no O to speak of. This is a very winnable game. That leaves Clemson. Predicting a rivalry game is beyond reason.
Rooting for your team is what being a fan is all about. If you are going to just spread shite and assume the sky is falling every week, why root for anyone in the first place?
As for me? I'm going to pull for my team to go 10-2, because it's still a possibility. The same way I was pulling for them to go 12-0 before their first loss and 11-1 before the second. Doing anything else is just not being a fan.

Wow, so I decided to do a family weekend and went radio silent until last night, no internet or anything. I get home and watch the Tenn game...wtf....
I've never seen us lose a game where we had that many TFL's. Our defense played awesome, that one handed catch at the end by Tenn was awesome (that was good coverage, the guy just looked like Alshon.)
WTF was up with the playcalling and TO's?!?! We had the ball near the 50, had poor field position most of the game and then tried a long bomb to waste a down.
frick, that was disappointing. Then to see Shaw get hurt in Kneeland Stadium, damn. The OL missed having Waldrop and Patrick at 100%. Also, Davis looked gimpy the first long run, a few weeks ago he would've taken that to the house.
Technicially we're still in the race, but that game doesn't settle well with me. We should've won that game.
