Still a lot of negotiating left to do on the budget, but for now it appears we're kicking the can down the road again.

It is Boehner's only move. The GOP needs time to regroup before the next budget battle.

not having a clear concise strategy on this was just sophomoric.

No shite huh? It's hard to negotiate when your side isn't even sure what it wants. I'm sure Boehner and McConnell had planned this out differently, and then a wrench named Cruz was thrown into the works. It's funny, because this was a good chance to force some spending cuts in a debt ceiling debate/shutdown. Going in early lost them all their leverage. You have to retreat now and enter the next debt ceiling battle still recovering from this mess.

The Pub base has loved the principled fight, but they lost an opportunity to get spending cuts and gave the inept rollout of the ACA cover with the media fixated on the shutdown. Well played.

it being his only move is because he has been such a spineless cry baby in the past. if he was tougher than he would have a better position against the dems but he is just a puppet for them and not even close to a political match for obama and reid. the top republicans are all garbage and basically puppets for obama. The republican plan of attack is pathetic. The ideas are closer to being right than the democrats but they have no way of articulating why the idea works.
