How are we as a population finite and how is the debt "infinite"?

To the OP: Of course we're not going to default. You know what makes it hard to get re-elected? Crashing the world economy because you want to win some stupid political fight. Yes Obama can't get re-elected, but if he allows a default the history books won't be kind. His ego couldn't take that.

Well, looks like Boehner is bringing the Senate CR bill to the floor for vote, and has the votes to pass it, so no we won't default this time. Still a lot of negotiating left to do on the budget, but for now it appears we're kicking the can down the road again.

What an epic fail by the House GOP. Whether you agreed with them or not, not having a clear concise strategy on this was just sophomoric.

As a population, we are bounded by land and resources. Birth rates are on a major decline, and if not for immigration, our population would actually be declining the last few years.

And our debt is infinite because it has no limit (we keep raising it)
