I am mainly refering to the numerous fourth and short calls. Yea we get some but i prefer to punt it away or kick field goals. Say what you want about nit picking but its not the case when it happens multiple times. Maybe not every game and it may not be in direct correlation with losing or winning games, but its a gamble small time coach make to win big games.

Studies have shown that once you cross a certain point on the field that it's in your favor to go for it on fourth and short. If we're in opponent's territory and have been moving the ball and it's 4th and 2 or less, there's no reason to give them the ball back or kick a long FG (that is no guarantee with our kicker).
And when Johnny fricking Football is on the other side and hasn't been stopped all night you should probably do whatever it takes to keep the ball out of his hands.
