I've heard that JC will be playing... will this be his "Shut the Doubters up" game..

I think you win with or without him.

Thoughts

Will be a close game. Expect Mike Davis to have a huge game as Spurrier tries to keep our defense off the field as much as possible. Shaw will have a bunch of rushing yards off the zone read as well.

Score somewhere in the mid20s-30s.

I feel like the games never go as we plan. Davis got the ball like 4 times in the first half against UCF but blew them up in the second.
I feel like Spurrier tries to go with the passing game too much to start out with.

But yes, it will be a close game. The only game that won't be close for us from here on out will be Coastal Carolina.

Yep, I DGAF if we don't cover this spread and would be happy being 5-1 after a 1pt victory.

I dunno ... I think we win convincingly. I have no clue why I feel that way. Will probably be totally wrong but I just have a feeling for some reason.

No, you know what, I know exactly why I have this feeling.

This team started the season with no real identity. Well, actually it had an identity ... Clowney. But that was wrong. It was wrong to do it to this team and to Clowney and to the coaches quite frankly. But it was wrong.

Anyways, this team has sort of existed so far. Superior talent to every team it has played with the exception of Georgia - and Georgia we were equal, but it was on the road and we were still wobbly from having no identity.

We started this season with no Lattie, no DJ, no Devonte, no Taylor, no Shaq Wilson ... and all these guys were big time leaders.

Instead, we started this season with only four scholarship seniors - one of the two youngest teams in the nation. And a new DLine coach - that's an important factor.

This season, so far, has been about this team finding itself. May sound crazy but I am old and experienced in the whole concept of teamwork ... as a former athlete, as a former solider, as a builder of a business, as a family man. Everything in life is all about teamwork and a team has to have its leaders and an identity.

This Clowney thing has begun to work itself out - what is happening now was inevitable.

As far as the rest of it goes, it's been a process. No one, not us, not the team, no one who was going to replace Lattie ... now we know, and Davis is doing it in spades. English has taken some of the pressure off of Clowney, believe it or not, and so has Spurrier whether he intended to, or not.

The loss to UGA took some pressure off and, at the same time, gave this team more focus. The game down at UCF helped to develop some chemistry. The thing with Deke Adams - that too has worked itself out.

One other thing.

UNC gave the whole schedule the blueprint to beat us. Everyone else has been emulating what UNC did for the most part ... UGA simply had the talent and homefield advantage to execute it correctly.

All of these things have added-up to one thing. We're almost over the hump now and it's finally beginning to all come together.

... and the road is the perfect place for this to happen.

There was a time under Spurrier when we were a better road team than home team. I've never quite understood it, but I always assumed it was because there was less scrutiny on the road.

My gut tells me this is the week. This will be the week where this particular team sort-of breaks-out. As I typed earlier, I may be totally wrong, but I just have a feeling. I hope I'm not just projecting a wish rather than a reality - I dunno. We'll see.

Hard to be optimistic a/b this one. We have an unfortunate history w/ ARK and our team thus far has underwhelmed.

We need a convincing win. We have the talent to do so. Not so sure a/b some of these guys on the road, though. Tough to call.

Hell, I fully expect to lose this game. The trip out to Fayettenam has never been kind, and since Spurrier has been here, rarely has he had the better team (for a host of reasons). Arky wants that "major" win under the Diabetic, and I don't think you can call beating Carolina signature, but I expect USC to go out there and lay an egg. It's just what we do.

It depends soley on how many times Shaw/Special teams fumble.

Those two variables have A) Potentially cost us a win in Athens and B) Made games that were not so close very close.

Fayettenam is Fayetteville, NC ... home of the 82nd Airborne Division, America's Guard of Honor.

Fayetteville, Arkansas does not resemble Fayettenam, NC in the least - not even close.

He seems to be a rather respectful and humble guy thus far. Here's an ESPN interview with him after the UCF game. He gives most of the credit to his offensive line.

Arkansas has no defense, Mike Davis is going to approach 300 yards if Spurrier doesn't pull him to give Wilds some carries.

And this would not be a week I'd want to face Clowney with all the media shite talk this week...

I think Carolina is going to show out like the top ten team they were initially ranked, and beat the shite out of them.

Also.... here is proof that I was talking up Mike Davis back in January. LINK

This is for those of you who keep hounding me about how good Davis is... I KNOW. I KNEW HE WAS GOOD BEFORE MOST OF YOU DID.

You are miserable.

Having said that, Mike Davis is over-rated. He had one good week against UNC, and now everyone has heard of him. Many of you don't realize he was Lattimore's backup last year. After Lattimore went down, Davis got almost all the carries. He finished the season with a respectable 5 ypc, but he isn't the 6 ypc guy that Yeldon, Hill, Gurley, Latti, and even Marshall are. He's a solid back, but he's not a game-changer. Most SEC running backs are pretty good. There's a difference between Good and Special.

We need to put his arse in the wind and boot him outta here ... I can't stand two-faced hypocrites. They should all be neutered and have their tongues cut-out and fingers removed imho.

I'd let'em keep their eyes.
