Yes I am a glutton for punishment.

That being said, I feel a lot better about things, and about the rest of the season.

I'm not one to sunshine pump, and taking a moral victory from this would be pretty lame, but after this game I feel pretty much the same confidence for the rest of the season as I did before.

Let's go ahead and get the offense out of the way. As many have said, we desperately need a power back (and I think we should line RN at FB in short yardage and goal line situations), but I don't think that fact will become nearly as glaring for the remainder of the season. Alabama had the perfect gameplan, but I don't think any of our remaining opponents have the horses that can pull it off the way they did. LSU possibly, but they have shown weakness. The main thing is the Alabama D played very inspired ball, feeding off an amazing crowd atmosphere, and showed what we all knew they had the potential to do. They wanted to make a statement, and they brought it. It was just one of those nights for us. They happen sometimes. We put ourselves in good opportunities but were unable to execute. I think we were overwhelmed to a degree, and I think this game will do a lot for our guy's perspective on things, namely Bo.

I don't have much to say about the 4th downs, I don't really care about losing by less. You could see the agonizing frustration in Freeze's eyes. He wanted this game badly, and was willing to take risks. I am personally proud of his attitude and spirit.

Now the Defense. That was the best performance since at least 2009, probably 2008. I don't care what the score says, or statistically. Those boys showed up and put us in a prime opportunity to take that game. Idk if y'all realize, but Alabama's time of possession was 39 fricking minutes, and other than mainly two busted plays they were superb. The open field tackling, especially from Bryant and Conner, is a thing of beauty. The only really badly missed tackle of the night was Marry's on the Yeldon run. The DL was abusing Bama's O line for most of the game. The DBs were actually in good position for the most part, and several of Alabama's catches came from great plays by their receivers in spite of great coverage. I am very proud of how they played after having to spend the whole night on the field.

So where do we go from here? Was the D fired up and we won't see that again? Was our O a fluke earlier in the season? We will find out soon enough. But I think we're gonna go into Jordan Hare and hit Auburn in the mouth. I honestly feel more confident about that game than I did last week. I have a feeling this young team is going to do a lot of growing up this week. And you know that Freeze has to be embarrassed about what happened, to the point where he will have this team more ready than we have seen any time previously. I expect this week's game plan to to be perfect.

So in essence, I expect to make that bitch Malzahn rethink his whole philosophy after Saturday. I expect whoever the frick their shitty arse quarterback is to be so demoralized after this game that they have to start Frazier again for the rest of the season. I expect Tre Mason to loathe the day he signed the wrong papers. And I expect a great rest of the season. We're almost to the home stretch, an awesome season is still in our grasp, one that we can build off of for even greater things next year. The future is bright.

I agree with everything you said

To add on to that, I've seen a lot of people, not here necessarily, not even looking forward to the next of the season because of this game. As you said, I think people forget how great out defense was. We were down two possessions (16-0) all the way until about midway through the 4th. Our offense simply could not execute, in large part because of Saban's work in the film room. That's where the ball game was decided, and the Siskey shite didn't have a damn thing to do with anything, dude didn't even have a headset.

In the end, we are 3-1 heading into one of the biggest games of our season. Don't quote me on this, but a 10-2 season is still well within our reach. I'm hoping this will be like last years Texas game or us and this motivates us to get better as the season goes on. We will be fine

I was at the game and pretty high up but I did see some things. It seemed that Saban's defesnive game plan we to put a guy in the box and dare us to throw deep knowing if we didn't complete it we would be behind the chains which would destroy us. When we did get 3rd and long he brought a ton of pressure knowing our Oline would collapse and his DB's didnt have to cover for long. We dropped a few passes that didnt help us. We just needed to hit a long pass to get a guy out of the box so that we could get into a rhythm with Read option. Once we get a few first down with Read Option, our wrinkles we have are about unstoppable. I dont think anyone we will play besides maybe LSU, will be able to dominate us physically up front like they did.

Defensively that game was a thing of beauty. The ultimate bend but don't break game. I was at the concession stand at half time talking to some Bammers and we all agreed that the first possesion of the second half would be huge. It is just frusterating that we let Yeldon do that. But other than that I though we played great. We did a very good job of getting pressure but we needed to finish the play and get a sack rather then let AJ get a 2 yard gain. We are improving and if we play like that the rest of the season we are going to be happy.
