They allowed one TD. Arky State had an incredible kicker.
I don't think the D is terrible.

The D was decent. I have no complaints. ASU's game is running the ball. They had a game earlier this year where they rushed for over 500 yards.
Auburn held ASU 150 yards rushing. Mizzou held them to 117.
Mizzou's weakness is the 2ndary so of course ASU was going to attack it but they kept trying to run when they needed a play because that is what they are good at.
The passing yards are going to happen vs Mizzou but that doesn't make it bad defense. Our secondary is not that talented. It is probably a good coaching move to keep everything in front until the field is shortened for 2 reasons:
1) Not many teams can dink and dunk down the field w/out dropping a pass, giving up a sack or getting a penalty that kills the drive as long as you stop the run game.
2) As the field gets smaller, it makes it easier to play tighter and not get beat over the top.
Is the defense elite? Hell no. Is it playing good? yes, it is.

Stating the obvious, I think the real tests are ahead of us. We've played nobody so far. The defense has allowed teams to move at will for 3/4's of the field and then has done a decent job of clamping down. It has yet to be seen if some of those FG's turn into TD's when playing real teams. I'd probably give them a C- so far on the year but am willing to wait until we get a couple games into conference play before completely jumping off the ledge.
