So far, we have given up 121 points in 4 games for an average of 30.25 ppg.

Let's assume we hold Arkansas to 14 points: That's 135 points in 5 games, or 27 ppg.

Let's then assume we hold Ole Miss to 21. That's 146 points in 6 games, or 24.3 ppg.

Let's then assume we hold Auburn to 14. That's 160 points in 7 games, or 22.8 ppg.

Let's then assume we hold Vanderbilt to 10. That's 170 in 8 games, or 21.25 ppg.

Let's then assume we shut out UTEP because their offense is awful. That's 170 in 9 games, or 18.9 ppg.

Let's then assume we hold Mississippi State to 10 points. That's 180 in 10 games, or 18 ppg.

Longshot, but it's possible.

This season, I would gladly trade our defense for Rutgers. Just this season.

I don't see us holding Arkansas to less than 28 unless their backup QB is really that bad.

I think Ole Miss is going to score 40 on us but they are going need 50.

I would trade our defense for Colorado St. this season. They at least held Bama to 31 points.

Don't see it

Highly doubt it

Doubt this as well

UTEP won't get shut out

I think you are putting a ton of faith in our defense after one decent showing against an SMU team that Tech beat fairly easily. The good news, though, is with our offense, we don't need a dominant defense to win games. Just a serviceable one

Honestly I think it is impossible to tell what this D is going to do. I think as long as they can stay healthy they will improve as the Freshman get experience and the Everett move to Safety takes effect. How much though? The biggest concern I see is we don't seem to have a legit pass rusher and that can't happen overnight. You can teach a kid to take better angles, be in position, etc. It's hard to teach them how to just get to the QB.
