This year, so far, we have forced the following turnovers:

vs. Rice: 2 Interceptions
vs. SHSU: 2 Interceptions (1 for a TD)
vs. Alabama: 1 fumble
vs. SMU: 2 Interceptions, 1 fumble (for TD)

Forced 8 turnovers, given up 5 for a net +3

Last year, through 4 games:

vs. Florida: 0 turnovers
at SMU: 1 Interception
vs. SCSU: 1 Interception (for TD)
vs. Arkansas: 2 Interceptions, 1 fumble (for TD)

Forced 5 turnovers, gave up 1 for a net +4

We were even, +1, even, and +3 after 4 games last year and are +1, +1, -1, and +2 after 4 games this year.

Personally, I hadn't bought into the supposed problems on defense people talked about. Correct me if I'm wrong, but with all of the suspensions to start the year, hasn't your defense only been together for 2 games now? And one of those games against who is currently the #1 team in the country? I think you'll only see the defense continue to get better as the games go by, not that the numbers you posted aren't good already.

What is encouraging is moving Deshazor Everett over to start at Safety. Should have done this for the 'Bama game.
