In 2010, Cam's best single-game performance was when he accounted for 408 total yards of offense (335 passing, 73 rushing) on 42 plays (17-28 passing, 14 rushing attempts) and accounted for 6 TDs (4 passing, 2 rushing). It came against South Carolina, the #46 ranked defense on the season, in the SEC Championship, which AU won 56-17. He left the field for good after throwing his last TD pass with 11:14 left in the 4th quarter.

In 2012, JFF's best single game performance was when he accounted for 576 net yards (395 passing, 181 rushing) on 59 plays (24-40 passing, 19 rushing attempts) and accounted for 6 TDs (3 passing, 3 rushing). It came against LA Tech, the #120 ranked defense (out of 120 FBS teams), in a game in which JFF led his team to two TDs in the final 7 and a half minutes, then watched as a game-tying 2-point conversion by LT fell short in the final 40 seconds, enabling the Aggies to hang on 59-57. JFF was on the field taking a knee as time expired, prior to joining his teammates in celebration of the hard-fought victory over the eventual WAC runner-up.

BTW, projecting Cam's 9.7 yard per play average out to the 59 touches JFF managed against LT would have given him 573 yards of total offense - just 3 yards shy of JFF's SEC record mark.

Ok, well how about JFF's game he just had against Bama? Or last year against Arky (which he left early in the 4th)? Or last year against OU? All of those he had better stats than any Cam game.

You really don't want to play the "what if" game with JFF either because he left virtually every game very early. He had 2 games he left basically at half but still put up over 40 points. Johnny will likely have a 600 yard TO game this year, he may even have a 700 or more. It all depends on how long Sumlin leaves him in. I have little doubt they could hang a hundred on a team if he allowed them to as well but he won't.

I have no problem with arguing Cam's record against JFF, it's a very strong argument. Cam simply didn't put up the same kind of numbers JFF is. Cam got the ring though and that counts for a ton. I have no problem if someone says he was GOAT. JFF just has a different argument because he is a different type of QB.

Awesome performance, but still trumped by what JF did at Bama last year as a freshman. I know where Bama's D ended up ranked...
