Good Evening,
I live in Atlanta now and will be headed to the game with my family! We are all excited for our first roadtrip to Athens.
If any Georgia or LSU fans that know could answer the following questions I would be grateful.
1) Where is the best place to park? Will be headed back to Atlanta right after the game. Also we will not be tailgating--if that eliminates a few parking locations.
2) When would you leave Atlanta? We want time to explore Athens and campus before the game.
3) How hard would it be to eat lunch in downtown Athens? If so when would we need to get to a place? Any suggestions for lunch spots in downtown Athens.
Thank you so much!

1) Downtown Athens has two parking decks, max daily fee is $20.
2) Leave ATL no later than 7 am. Don't take Hwy 316. Continue on I-85 N to highway 129, which is exit 137, town of Jefferson. Turn right at the exit ramp. If you need gas etc, go ahead and get it here. Make sure you are gassed up, you don't want to need gas after the game leaving town.
3) I eat lunch in downtown athens all the time. If you leave ATL by 7, you'll be parked and walking around by 10, take your pick of numerous places to eat. Locals are more than happy to recommend places. If you have girls in your posse, there is plenty of shopping on Clayton street as well.
Getting out of town is going to be a pain in the arse no matter what you do. Just accept it, and make sure you don't need gas, see #2.
